Exporting Data in Polar
Last updated: September 25, 2026
This article covers how to download report data from Polar as a CSV file, the export limits to be aware of, and how to automate recurring reports and Google Sheets exports using the Polar MCP with n8n or Claude.
Export a report as a CSV
You can download the data behind any custom table or chart as a CSV file to work with in Excel, Google Sheets, or other tools.
Open the report you want to export.
Click the three dots (⋯) in the top-right corner of the report.
Select Download. The data is exported as a CSV file.

The export contains the underlying data behind the report, including all selected metrics, dimensions and filters. It doesn't include the chart itself, but you can rebuild the chart from the CSV in your spreadsheet tool.
Key Metrics dashboards can't be downloaded directly. To get those metrics outside Polar, export a custom table with the same metrics, or use one of the automation options below.
Export limits
Where | Row limit |
Viewing a report in Polar | Up to 1,000 rows |
Downloading a CSV | Up to 100,000 rows per export |
If your data is over the limit, split it into smaller date ranges, export each one, and combine the files in your spreadsheet or data warehouse.
To keep exports small and easy to work with, include only the metrics you need and avoid breakdowns that multiply the number of rows.
Automate recurring reports and exports
If you need Polar data outside the platform on a regular schedule, choose the option that fits where the data needs to go:
Option | Best for |
Scheduled reports sent from within Polar. Automations don't currently support Google Sheets as a destination. | |
Polar MCP + n8n | Fully automated workflows, such as weekly client reports emailed as formatted summaries, or data written to Google Sheets on a schedule. Recommended for most automated exports. |
Polar MCP + Claude scheduled tasks | A simpler way to send data to Google Sheets on a schedule, without building a workflow. Set up a scheduled task in Claude with the Polar MCP and a Google Sheets destination. See Use Polar MCP in Claude & Claude Tag. |
Automate reporting with the Polar MCP and n8n
With the Polar MCP and n8n, you can build a workflow that pulls your Polar data on a schedule, uses an AI model to turn it into a written summary, and delivers it by email, Slack or Google Sheets. Agencies often use this to send weekly client reports automatically.
What you'll need
A Polar Analytics account
Access to Claude or ChatGPT
The Polar MCP connector
An n8n workspace
A connected delivery tool, such as Gmail, Slack or Google Sheets
How the workflow is structured
Step | What it does |
1. Trigger | A Schedule node runs the workflow automatically, for example every Monday at 8:00 for a weekly report, or weekdays at 8:00 for a daily one. |
2. Fetch data | The Polar MCP pulls the metrics you need. Connect it through an MCP client node, a webhook, or the Polar API. |
3. AI summary | An OpenAI or Claude node takes a tested prompt plus the client's details (such as store name, date range and KPIs) and writes the report. |
4. Format | Convert the AI's output to HTML so it displays cleanly in email, and attach a PDF if you generate one. |
5. Deliver | Send the report with a Gmail, Slack or Google Sheets node. For client reports, we recommend saving them as Gmail drafts so an account manager can review them before sending. |
Tip: test your prompt in Claude or ChatGPT with the Polar MCP first. Once it reliably produces the report you want, use the same prompt in n8n.
