Data Freshness
Last updated: October 27, 2026
Polar shows an icon next to each metric on your dashboards that tells you whether its data is up to date. Hover the icon to see how fresh the data is and which connector it comes from.
Without this, a number looks the same whether its connector synced an hour ago or broke three days ago, and the only way to know is to check the Connectors page.
What the icons mean
Status | Icon | What you see on hover |
|---|---|---|
Delayed | Clock | How old the data is |
Broken | Crossed-out plug | Which connector is broken |
Up to date | The usual "i" or verified icon | How fresh the data is |
The hover panel lists the connections behind the metric and the date and time their data runs through.
When you won't see a warning
The checks take what you're looking at into account, so you're only warned about problems that affect the numbers in front of you:
Date range: if data is delayed but you're looking at an older period that doesn't overlap with the delay, there's no warning.
Views: there's no warning about a connector that's filtered out by your selected views or your view permissions.
Paused connections: there's no warning about a paused connection, even if its data is stale.
Remove a warning for a connector you don't plan to fix
If a connector is broken and you don't plan to reconnect it, use the pause shortcut on the connector's error to pause the connection. Paused connections don't show warnings.
To fix a broken connector instead, see Managing Connectors.
Current limitations
Polar Pixel metrics, and Shopify metrics broken down by Polar Pixel dimensions such as channel, don't show freshness.
Freshness isn't shown in automation emails or Slack messages.
