Criteo

Connect Criteo to Polar to see your Criteo spend and performance next to your other marketing channels. You'll create API credentials in Criteo, give them access to your accounts, then add them in Polar.

Before you start

  • You need the Admin or Connector role in Polar.

  • Your Criteo account needs active campaign data. Polar can't sync an account with no activity.

Create API credentials in Criteo

  1. Sign in to the Criteo Developer Portal at developers.criteo.com.

  2. Go to My Apps and click Create New App.

  3. Name the app. A description and image are optional.

  4. Under Authentication, choose Client Credentials.

  5. Under Service, choose Marketing Solutions, then continue.

  6. In the Authorization section, set each permission to Read Access.

  7. Click Activate App.

  8. Under App Credentials, click Create New Key. A .txt file with your Client ID and Client Secret downloads. Keep it for the last step.

Give the app access to your Criteo accounts

  1. In the Developer Portal, click Create new consent URL.

  2. Copy the URL and open it in your browser.

  3. Select the portfolios or accounts you want Polar to access, then click Approve.

If you can't approve, send the consent URL to an admin of the Criteo account.

Connect Criteo in Polar

  1. Go to the Connectors page and select Criteo.

  2. Paste the Client ID and Client Secret from the .txt file.

  3. Click Connect.

The first sync takes about 24 hours. See Data Syncs.

Match your Criteo settings

After connecting, set the connector's Currency and Report Timezone to match your Criteo account. This keeps spend, ROAS and daily numbers consistent with Criteo's reports.

FAQs

Why does my consent URL approval fail?

You need admin rights on the Criteo account. Send the consent URL to an admin and ask them to approve it.

Why don't Polar's Criteo numbers match Criteo's reports?

Check that the connector's currency and report time zone match your Criteo account. Also compare the same conversion window, for example Conversions (30d PC) in both places.
