Snapchat Ads

This article covers connecting Snapchat Ads to Polar, how often the data refreshes, the dimensions available, and how to fix connection errors.

Connecting Snapchat Ads

Add Snapchat Ads from the Connectors page in Polar. Before you connect, check two things in Snapchat:

  • You have the right role. In Snapchat, go to Business settings > Members and make sure you have the Organization Admin role.

  • The ad account has data. Polar can only pull data from an account that has already run ads.

To attribute Snapchat traffic with the Polar Pixel, also set up your tracking parameters using the Snapchat Ads Tracking Parameters Guide.

Data refresh

Snapchat Ads data refreshes once a day. Snapchat's API doesn't include conversions in its hourly reports, so an hourly refresh isn't possible for this connector, even on plans that refresh other sources hourly. See Snapchat's API documentation for details.

Available dimensions

You can break down Snapchat Ads data in your dashboards and custom tables and charts by:

  • Account currency

  • Account ID

  • Account name

  • Campaign

  • Campaign ID

  • Channel

  • Date

  • Device

  • Organization ID

  • Timezone

For the full, up-to-date list of Snapchat metrics and dimensions, open the metric or dimension picker in any custom table and search for "Snapchat".

Troubleshooting

I get an error when connecting Snapchat

This is almost always a permissions issue. Confirm you have the Organization Admin role in Business settings > Members, and that the ad account you're connecting has data. If the error continues, reach out through the in-app chat.

Why do Snapchat numbers differ from Polar Pixel data?

Snapchat Ads metrics use the attribution settings configured in your Snapchat account, so they can differ from Polar Pixel conversions. See Troubleshooting Data Differences Between Polar and Your Ad Platform.
