Impact

Connect Impact (impact.com) to Polar to see your affiliate and partner cost, clicks and actions next to your other marketing channels. You'll create an API token in Impact with read access to the right endpoints, then add it in Polar.
Before you start
You need the Admin or Connector role in Polar.
You need an Admin user in Impact to create or edit API tokens.
Create an API token in Impact
In Impact, go to Settings > Technical > API.
Create a new token, or open the token you want to use. Copy the Account SID and the Auth Token.
Turn on the API sections below and tick the Get objective for each path. Polar only reads data, so no Post, Put, Patch or Delete access is needed, and you can leave other sections (such as Clicks or Conversions) as they are.
Section | Objective | API path |
|---|---|---|
Company Information | Retrieve company information | /Advertisers/<AccountSID>/CompanyInformation |
Programs / Campaigns | Retrieve campaigns | /Advertisers/<AccountSID>/Campaigns |
Actions | Retrieve actions | /Advertisers/<AccountSID>/Actions |
Actions | Retrieve action updates | /Advertisers/<AccountSID>/ActionUpdates |
Reports | Generate report | /Advertisers/<AccountSID>/Reports/<ReportName> |
Partners | Retrieve media partners | /Advertisers/<AccountSID>/MediaPartners |
Ads | Retrieve ads | /Advertisers/<AccountSID>/Ads |
Promo Codes | Retrieve promo codes | /Advertisers/<AccountSID>/PromoCodes |
Invoices | Retrieve invoices | /Advertisers/<AccountSID>/Invoices |
Company Information is required. Polar reads your account currency from it before loading actions and performance reports. If it's off, cost, clicks and actions don't load, even when Reports and Actions are on.
Section names can differ slightly in your Impact account. Match on the API path.
Connect Impact in Polar
Go to the Connectors page and select Impact.
Paste the Account SID and Auth Token.
Click Connect.
Polar syncs Impact every hour. The first sync loads your history and can take a few hours. See Data Syncs.
What Polar syncs
Actions: conversions credited to partners, with their cost and updates (for example reversals and lockings).
Performance by day and Performance by partner and day: clicks, actions and cost per day, overall and per partner.
Reference data: campaigns, partners, ads, promo codes and invoices.
FAQs
Why does my Impact connector show "Integrity check failed"?
Polar compares your Impact data with the Impact API every day. If actions or performance reports can't be read, Polar has no daily values to compare and the checks fail. The most common cause is a token that's missing one of the Get permissions above, most often Company Information. Enable the missing permissions on the same token. Polar picks up the change on its next hourly sync, with no reconnect needed. If you created a new token, paste it in Connectors > Impact > Reconnect. See Data Integrity Reports.
Polar says my connection works, so why is data missing?
When you connect, Polar checks the token by reading your campaigns only. A token can pass that check and still be refused for Company Information, Actions or Reports. If cost, clicks or actions are missing, check the full permission list above.
My campaigns and partners show in Polar, but cost and clicks are empty
Campaigns, partners, ads, promo codes and invoices use their own permissions. Cost, clicks and actions also need Company Information, Actions and Reports (Generate report). Check that all three are on for the token connected in Polar.
I enabled the permissions but nothing changed
Check that you edited the token that's connected in Polar. Permissions are set per token, so changes to another token in your Impact account don't apply. If you're unsure which token is connected, create a new one with the permissions above and reconnect with it.
